2017 / 2018 Impact

In the 2017/18 academic year, the America Reads Program served a total of 699 children at six locations. These students achieved proficiency in an astonishing 4,700 academic standards. Below is a list of areas on instruction and a breakdown of the number of standards in which the students achieved proficiency. A total of 384 ASU students participated in America Reads. Students completed 37,036 service hours; 31,878 were direct contact hours, working with Title I students in Maricopa County.

  • 1,100 goals achieved in writing
  • 1,724 goals achieved in reading and reading comprehension
  • 1,876 goals achieved in mathematics
