About the InternshipDuties:
A Positive Action Mentor builds supportive relationships with BGCMP tween/Teen members by fostering Academic Success, Leadership Development, and Healthy Living. Mentors assist with homework, participate in recreational activities and share insights about post-secondary education. BGCMP professional staff train Positive Action Mentors to facilitate an evidence-based, direct-service program addressing risk factors for youth ages 11-14 years including bullying, substance abuse, and anti-social behavior.

This position serves BGCMP Tween members, youth ages 11-13 years (middle school students) who will benefit from a positive adult mentor, and who participate in BGCMP's after-school program. The Positive Impact Mentor position is available at two BGCMP Phoenix club locations: Rosenzweig Branch in the area of 19th Ave & W. Missouri, and D-backs Branch in the area of 7th Ave & W. Southern.

Kids and teens need a safe place to go after-school, and opportunities to grow and develop to their fullest potential. This is especially true in the under-served neighborhoods that are home to BGCMP clubs.
BGCMP provides quality structured, comprehensive development programs for youths ages 5-18 under the supervision of a caring, professional staff in a nurturing after-school environment in 13 locations.
