About the InternshipDuties:
The Summer Food Coordinator would work directly with our child center to provide nutritious food, snacks, diapers and formula to those families visiting the food bank. This grant is provided by St. Mary's Food Bank and requires us to track how many served each day. The coordinator will also poll the families to collect data on their food security needs.
Low-income families with children.
ICM serves a very low-income population of families in south/central Phoenix. More than 36% of people served at the food bank are children.
The intern will directly assist clients in need of supplemental food. A recent survey of clients shows ICM's average client family reported making under $12,000 per year. One in four children in Phoenix do not get the food they need to grow healthy and vigourous and the children served at ICM make up 36% of our customers. The summer food program makes all the difference to our customers when school is out for the summer!
